New CEO Appointed

Darren's qualifications include Registered General Nurse and Registered Mental Health Nurse certificates, a Bachelors Degree of Nursing and a Masters Degree of Health Service Management. He is a member of two professional associations; an Associate Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Executives and a Member of the Royal College of Nursing, Australia. Darren is also a Certified Health Executive by the ACHSE, indicating a commitment to continuing professional development in the field of health service management and a Justice of the Peace in and for the state of South Australia.

Darren has been involved with ACQA since December 2003 when he was engaged to assist the then Aged Care Quality Network to organise and become a not-for-profit association incorporated under the Incorporations and Associations Act. Since then he has been undertaking an honorary executive officer role to the Management Committee. Darren is currently an Individual Member of ACQA and in 2006 was appointed onto the Management Committee.

Darren's commitment and contribution to ACQA have been well demonstrated over the past 4 years and he is well placed to assist and drive ACQA's development into the future.

The position will commence on 3rd September 2007 for one day per week for the next 6 months. At that time the Committee will evaluate the outcomes of the position before deciding on the future of the role.
