Dear Members,

Thank you for your feedback on the updated Environment and Safety Audit. So far the feedback has been very positive.

The most common question we have had is, “Is the updated Environment and Safety Audit the same as the old Care Recipient Living Environment Audit? The questions seem very similar.”

The short answer is this; it’s similar, but not the same.

The updated Environment and Safety Audit focuses on a number of areas where providers have had compliance issues in recent Accreditation visits. The Audit seeks to provide a more comprehensive and robust coverage of the relevant Standards to assist members in monitoring service delivery and to provide additional evidence during an Accreditation visit.

To make this clearer, effective today we have removed the Care Recipient Living Environment Audit from the Audit Timetable. You can access historic results from the left menu, however the Care Recipient Living Environment Audit is no longer scheduled as part of the Audit Timetable. ( …which also means one less audit to do!)

If you haven’t looked at the updated Environment and Safety Audit yet, please do. It’s available to you now.

If you want to provide feedback, please contact myself or Gail Harding directly gail.harding@activequality.com.au. If you like what you are seeing, please spread the word and help us to grow the member base.

More updates in coming weeks…

-Steve Charman, on behalf of the ACQA Committee
