ACQA is pleased to announce general availability of our Community Aged Care Audit Tools, for those organisations providing Home Care and Assisted Living services to Consumers.

Alongside our existing Residential Aged Care Audits, we now support Auditing across all sectors covered by the incoming Single Quality Framework.

“The release of our Community Audits is a significant step forward for ACQA, ” said ACQA Chairman Gail Harding, “as Home Care and Assisted Living are coming under the new Single Quality Framework from 1 July this year, we are looking forward to helping a whole new range of providers to get up to speed on the new requirements.”

The Community Audit Tools consist of 8 community-specific Audits, plus a suite of Clinical Incidents and Consumer Feedback modules. The new Audits reference both the current Home Care Common Standards and the new Single Quality Framework to assist providers in their gap analysis and transition to the new Standards.

“It has been a group effort!”, remarked Gail, “ACQAs strength comes from the passionate participation and generous input from our knowledgeable members.”

For existing members, ACQA suggests that you may want to run a complete set of Audits to get a baseline position for your organisation. This will help get your organisation up to speed on the new requirements and allow you to better plan for transition. This may also provide a useful source of evidence in an Accreditation visit.

When answering the questions, if you are not 100% sure that your organisation is compliant, we suggest marking it as not compliant, to ensure that you clarify and put necessary measures in place ahead of the 1 July changeover.
