Dear members,

We have had feedback from a member with regards to hand hygiene and the use of alcohol based hand rub in kitchens and in food preparation areas.

We have adjusted our Hand Hygiene Audit so that hand washing with soap and water will be the requirement for hand hygiene in kitchens and food preparation areas in accordance with Standard 3.2.2 Food Safety Practices and general requirements. The audit has been updated today, and you will receive the updates automatically via the system.

Specifically, we have updated the Hand Hygiene Audit to reflect this requirement to ensure that alcohol-based hand rub is not used in the kitchen.

Thank you to our members who provide regular feedback on our tools. If you have any questions on this, or other areas for feedback, please get in touch. gail@acqa.org.au
